Age of the Earth

Geologists have started to understand that the earth is older than 6000 years. There are so many layers in the rocks, and with these layers is shows that there are more than 6000 layers of rock. Also, with places like the grand canyon, it takes millions of years for formations like that to form. They understand that there is no way there is only 6000 years in the earth. The layers in the earth go down for many many miles. People who believe in uniformitarianism think that geologic change takes place slowly and over a long period of time.
